About Simon

Simon Fletcher

Simon Fletcher is from the Wyre Forest and lives in Shropshire. A literature development worker, freelance writer, poet, novelist and storyteller, his work has been widely published and he's performed all over Britain in the last few years.

He works with Debjani Chatterjee and Basir Sultan Kazmi promoting better inter-cultural understanding through Mini Mushaira and with Jeff and Dan Phelps on Severn Spirit, an entertainment about the River Severn its culture and history.

Simon is available to work in schools, colleges, libraries and at arts and literary festivals. He also undertakes commissions

 
 

 
 

EVENTS

Simon will be running a poetry writing workshop on the ghazal form with the eminent Urdu poet Basir Sultan Kazmi at Pant village hall (near Oswestry, Shropshire) on Saturday 28 April, 10am-4pm. The workshop includes a walk so do bring suitable clothing and a picnic! Costs £20/£15.

On Saturday 5 May Simon will be running an environmental poetry workshop with Jane Seabourne at Oswestry Library, 11am-1pm. This is supported by Arts Council England. Costs £10/£7.

Tuesday 12 June Simon will be reading his poetry at the City Bar, King Street, Wolverhampton, from 7.45pm. Free entry. Thursday 28 June he'll be sharing his work at the Cafe Metro, Church Street, Bilston, 7.30pm. Tickets £2 on the door.
